Marielle Reuser

Animation Course Leader, MetStudios London

Marielle Reuser is a Creative Technologist, Digital Artist, and PhD candidate whose work spans AAA game development, higher education and public-sector innovation. She spent over a decade at Rockstar Games, contributing to major projects like Grand Theft Auto V and Red Dead Redemption II, specialising in environment design, visual storytelling, and advanced texturing workflows.

Her practice includes a deep interest in how natural materials, such as wood and stone, weather and decay. Her work explores this through photogrammetry, procedural material creation, and state-of-the-art texturing techniques such as height-based blending commonly used in Unreal Engine environments.

Alongside her games industry practice, Marielle’s doctoral research investigates the use of digital tools within participatory action research, focusing on how technology can visualise lived experience and expand creative methodologies. This arts-based research project within the NHS uses photography, creative writing and generative AI to explore workplace wellbeing. Her work focuses on collecting and visualising stories of menopause across the NHS workforce, bringing artistic inquiry and digital innovation together to support more inclusive organisational understanding.

As a Senior Lecturer and Course Leader, Marielle designs studio-based learning that merges industry-standard pipelines with critical and inclusive pedagogy. She also facilitates workshops in character design, illustration, and narrative development. She is currently developing an animated YouTube series that combines her interests in storytelling, character and environment design, and experimental narrative design.
