Comic Con 2025: a creative adventure for students and staff

MetStudios students and staff recently made their way to the ExCeL Centre in London for MCM London Comic Con, one of the UK’s biggest celebrations of pop culture, gaming, comics, and creativity.

Bringing together fans and professionals from across the creative industries, the event offered an unforgettable opportunity for our community to immerse themselves in the worlds that inspire their craft.

For MetStudios, Comic Con wasn’t just an exciting day out; it was a chance to connect with the wider industry, meeting illustrators, voice actors, game designers, and publishers. Students returned with new ideas for projects and collaborations, as well as a renewed appreciation for the creative community that surrounds them.

Across the three-day event, attendees explored the impressive exhibition halls with over 1,000 vendors, packed with independent creators, major publishers, and artist alleys, while panels, Q&A sessions and meet and greets delivered rare behind-the-scenes insights into animation, gaming, comics, and film.

The cosplay zones were another highlight, inspiring our next generation of character designers and storytellers, particularly those studying Game Art, Animation, and VFX. Staff and students also took full advantage of the networking opportunities, sharing contacts and discussing potential collaborations for the future.

We’re already looking forward to next year’s event and to seeing how the weekend’s inspiration shapes the projects, stories, and ideas emerging across our campuses in the months ahead.
