World-premiere trailers, major announcements, and historic wins – The Game Awards once again delivered. Here’s everything you need to know from gaming’s biggest night.
A new record breaker
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 has officially become the most-nominated and most-awarded game in the history of The Game Awards, overtaking The Last of Us: Part 2.
This year, it swept the ceremony with an incredible nine wins, including:
- Game of the Year
- Best Game Direction
- Best Narrative
- Best Art Direction
- Best Score and Music
- Best Performance
- Best Independent Game
- Best Debut Indie Game
- Best RPG
Developed by Sandfall Interactive, this RPG has kept players hooked since launch. As a thank you to fans, the team has released a free DLC, packed with new content that’s available now, giving everyone even more reasons to dive back in.
No Man’s Sky continues its comeback journey
No Man’s Sky took home the Best Ongoing Game award, winning against Final Fantasy XIV, Fortnite, Helldivers 2 and Marvel Rivals. This action-adventure survival game, developed by Hello Games, has come a long way since its 2016 launch and is now celebrated as a true redemption story, thanks to major updates and new features that have transformed the game.
Fresh titles you won’t want to miss
Big news for Warhammer fans! Creative Assembly revealed Total War: Warhammer 40,000 during the show, with a special introduction from Stranger Things’ David Harbour. The excitement didn’t stop there; Star Wars fans were also treated to not one, but two new game announcements. Star Wars: Fate of the Old Republic was revealed, developed by Arcanaut Studios in collaboration with Lucasfilm Games, alongside Star Wars: Galactic Racers, created by Fuse Games and expected to launch in 2026 on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
Larian Studios strikes again
Following the massive success of Baldur’s Gate 3, Larian Studios is set to deliver another RPG hit with Divinity. While there’s no official release date yet, the dark and intriguing trailer gives fans a first look at what’s to come.
Mega Man returns
Mega Man fans have something to cheer about! Capcom unveiled the first new mainline Mega Man game since 2018’s Mega Man 11 during The Game Awards. The new title, Mega Man: Double Override, is a side-scrolling platformer in the classic series’ style, picking up where the previous game left off.

2026: A year to watch in gaming
2026 is shaping up to be a huge year for gamers. From breakthrough indie hits to exciting new announcements, there’s something for every kind of player. Grand Theft Auto VI took home the award for Most Anticipated Game, and excitement is already building for what could be the most ambitious entry in the series yet.
